I have been scoping out various routes on the coast south of SF. I’ve been north of us a lot. I just looked at the street view to see if they were pleasant looking. If anyone knows a different road in this area please let me know, there are many. I was trying to avoid Santa Cruz, trying to keep it more rural.

I know Felton’s out of the way, but my little sister works at Redwood Pizza, it’s a pretty good place for a bite to eat. And if you just want to get drink or five, Monty’s Log Cabin is fun.
Empire Grade and Felton Empire Roads are fun.
If you ever find yourself in Salinas, River Road is cool, it runs right along 101 towards Soledad, or it can circle into Arroyo Seco Road/Carmel Valley Road, which will take you the long way into the Monterey Peninsula. Laurales Grade’s another fun one around there, too.
I spent ten years in Salinas, love that area.

Highland way to eureka canyon road, goes from the top of 17 southerly to Aptos. I’ve been up there on my bike a bit and driven old San Jose way in my cousins 350z. Very twisty roads with lots of elevation changes. HWY 9 is too busy.

Its funny how Google Maps responds when I try to find mountainous roads in my area (Rotterdam, The Netherlands). It doesn’t.....

These are not fast roads, just fun roads to drive.

I like these kind the best, also flowing coastal roads. Some of these I never get past 3rd gear. But it’s perfect for the Z, I can use all the power and it sounds great in there.

Anything around La Honda is going to be fun, spent several hours exploring the hills last year on vacation.
